This site exists to provide information about the Colony Class cruiser, HMS Nigeria. HMS Nigeria served in the Royal Navy during WWII, taking part in the Russian convoys to Murmansk and Operation Pedestal in the Mediterranean. During Operation Pedestal, HMS Nigeria was struck by two torpedoes from an Italian submarine. My Grandfather, John Leslie Addiscott, was a Chief Engine Room Artificer (CERA) on HMS Nigeria at the time. The site is under initial construction and for further information I must refer you to two excellent sites regarding HMS Nigeria: The Wartime Memorial Project and The British War Memorial Project.
